We name all the koi and not just our favorites. It's a koi fancier's superstition that the named fish are the ones that die. I name all of mine so they all live. Buster, Glam, Goldie, Pearlie, Katonk, Shimmer, Peaches, Patches, Jitterbug, Audie, Ehu Dot, Ehu No Dot, Rocky Road, Angel, the three Zorros,. Felix and his buddies in the lower pond have come a long way from being shy to being first in line for breakfast. Felix's buddies are Rags (in honor of a dog my mother had as a child) and Da Kine (Hawaiian for the thing, you know). There is also another fish called Blahah Bala who is a tinfoil barb but thinks he's a koi. |

Buster is one of our earliest koi. In the past, we nursed Buster through an episode of illness. Buster has been very healthy ever since.
