A Place of Discovery

Postcard showing Glenn, Nat, Liz and farm animals Olomana Gardens is a permaculture dedicated to inventing and designing modern, sustainable food growing systems from backyard to large scale farms.  We are located in Hawaii on the windward side of Oahu. We feature integrated natural systems of animals, composting and vermicomposting, including aquaponics combining fish raising and production of organic vegetables). Our farm has a diverse and colorful collection of animals such as horses, chickens, ducks, geese, and goats.   Many thousands of composting worms are hard at work turning organic waste and manures into natural fertilizer which is fed back into our growing systems.

  • Local and international consulting/ installation for new or existing aquaponic systems.
  • Workshops are hosted regularly.
  • Small groups and school tours are welcome.
  • Internship

NOTICE:
In the distant past we hosted outdoor garden weddings at our facility. We no longer offer this service. Any web sites which list us as a wedding venue are in error.
We develop/invent key aquaponic system components, which improve energy efficiency, performance and suitability for both third and first world settings. We also do consulting/education on residential to commercial systems.
In addition we raise and sell composting worms and worm compost, eggs, etc.
